itikaf - last 10 nights of Ramadan
Narrated 'Aisha(r): The Prophet (s) used to practice I'tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan till he died and then his wives used to practice I'tikaf after him.
- Sahih al-Bukhari
The masjid will be open for those who would like to observe i‘tikaf during the last ten nights of Ramadan.
Community members are welcome to come beginning at Maghrib and remain through Fajr. After Fajr prayer, the masjid will close for the day and everyone will need to exit at that time.
In addition to the Musallah, brothers will be able to use rooms 9 and 10 in the basement. Sisters will be able to use the two upstairs rooms on the Sisters' side. Refreshments will be available in the pantry for the use of worshippers.
Please note that ICHC does not have shower facilities, so extended i‘tikaf will not be possible at our Masjid. We kindly ask everyone to plan accordingly.
Those intending to practice I’tikaf are required to register in advance, complete a waiver, notify the masjid what days they will be onsite, and are required to follow Masjid guidelines. For questions please contact [email protected]. May Allah accept our prayers, fasting, and our worship during these blessed nights and grant us the blessings of Laylatul Qadr-Aameen.
