Asalamu alakum Brothers and Sisters,

For the past 15 years, our fundraising efforts have been strictly for our building project. Alhamdullah, this year, our annual Layl ut Qadr fundraiser will focus on our next exciting phase for investing in our community and masjid operations. Funds are targeted for the Imam position we are currently interviewing for, establishing programs, and remaining building related items such as resealing the parking lot once all construction is completed.

Please strive in these last 10 nights with your recitation of the Quran, your Qiyam and your sadaqa.

Regarding Layl utal Qadr - Qudamah al-Maqdisi wrote:
Allah has concealed this night from the ummah so that they may strive in seeking it and performing worship through the month in the hopes of catching it. Similarly, He concealed the hour of special acceptance on Friday so that one would increase in their supplications through the day and He concealed His Greatest Name (ism al-a’dham) amongst His Divine Names and His Pleasure with acts of obedience so that people would strive for them. And he concealed an individual’s lifespan and the Hour [of the Day of Judgement] so that humanity would continuously strive in good deeds, being heedful of them.
The prophet (s) said
“Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.”
[At-Tirmidhi]

We ask Allah, to accept our Siyam, qiyam and sadaqah and that our good deeds find Layl atul Qadr – a night which is better than a 1000 months! Ameen
