Enrollment in ICHC's Arabic classes is open to all, regardless of membership status or religious affiliation. Below is the timetable for registration and classes:

ICHC Education Committee
- Enrollment period: Friday, August 9, 2019 through Friday, August 23, 2019. The online registration form can be found here. A printable paper form can be found at the bottom of this page.
- Classes Start & End Dates: Classes are scheduled to start on first week of October 2019 and to continue through mid of April, 2020 In Shaa Allah (God willing).
- Class Frequency, Duration and Location: There be one class each week which will begin at 7:00 PM and have a duration of about 2 hours, with a 15 minutes break for Prayer. All classes will be held at the Islamic Center of Hunterdon County, located at 1 East Main Street in Flemington, NJ.
- Classes offered during the 2018-2019 academic year are:
- Arabic for Beginners
- Arabic Level I
- Arabic Level II
- Arabic Level III

Arabic for Beginners Class:
- Basic Introduction that includes: The origin of the language & its association with other Semitic languages, the unique features of the language, the different dialects, etc.
- Arabic Alphabet and its different oral & written forms.
- Basic grammar that includes: Arabic consonants, the short & long vowels, shaddah, definite article, tanween, etc.
- Practicing the forming of simple words (reading & writing).
- Learning the Arabic numbering system.
- Simple commonly used words, phrases, names of various items, etc.
- The commonly used day to day words & phrases.
- Basic communication tools, such as Arabic greetings, simple dialogs.
- Other related topic as time allows.
- Course Prerequisites: None
- Students Gender: The classes are intended for both male & female students.
- Minimum age: 13
Classical Arabic Level I:
- This course is designed to provide an introduction to Arabic grammar, improve reading & basic communication tools, and starting comprehension lessons.
- Continuation of basic grammar rules that include: Orthography of the "hamza", the "Tanween", "Shadda", the definite articles & its effect on the classification of the Arabic letters, etc.
- New grammar topics that include: Root system of Arabic words, Case endings, Nouns, Gender, Adjectives, Dual & Plural forms, the subject & predicate of nominal sentences, introduction to pronouns in its various types. Also, introduction to verbs and its categories, forming basic verbal sentences, the specific types of Arabic pronouns, possessiveness, the imperative & negative commands, etc.
- Interactive reading practices while teaching each grammatical topic.
- Introduction to the Nominative, Accusative & Genitive modes of nouns, etc.
- The use of a text book that is based on the use of selected Quranic verses to illustrate the use of the grammar concepts being taught.
- Oral & written exercises to practice the use of the above grammatical topics.
- Continuous learning of new words.
- Reading & writing practices to optimize learning quality.
- Basic conversational phrases and situational dialogs.
- Other related topic as time allows.
- Course Prerequisites:
- Student must be able to read basic Arabic words.
- Student should be able to understand the Basic English language grammar concepts
- Students Gender: The classes are intended for both male & female students.
- Minimum age: 14
Classical Arabic Level II:
- Continuation of Arabic verbs, the different forms & tenses of Arabic verbs, verbal sentences, etc.
- New grammar topic that include: "Hamzatu-al wasl", the nouns & predicates of "kana & its sisters, as wells as of "Inna & its sisters, and the active & passive forms of Arabic sentences.
- Continuation of reading practices while teaching each grammatical topic.
- Introduction to declension & indeclension, the vocative case, expanding on the Nominative, Accusative & Genitive modes, etc.
- Employing the learnt grammar through reading and comprehension practices that is focused on explaining Arabic as a bridge to Islamic culture, which also include exercises on many of the grammatical topics.
- More practice on conversational Arabic and situational dialogs.
- Other related topic as time allows
- Course Prerequisites: Successful completion of Classical Arabic Level I.
- Students Gender: The classes are intended for both male & female students.
- Minimum age: 15.
